This Privacy Policy explains how Lite Work Designs ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Greenwood, South Carolina, USA, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use any of our apps (each, an "App"). It applies to every app we publish under the Lite Work Designs name, including:
Lite Work Designs — our design studio app for submitting briefs and receiving design work.
Aperla — photo proofing and delivery for photographers and their clients, including the Aperla Studio subscription.
Finch — booking, live sessions, and storefront tools.
Homefront — pantry tracking and meal planning.
Any other app we release under the Lite Work Designs umbrella, unless that app links to its own policy.
By using an App, you agree to the practices described here. Not every section applies to every App — the app-specific details below explain what each one collects.
Information we collect
Across our apps, we collect only the information needed to run the App and provide its features:
Account information — your name, email address, and (optionally) a phone number, which you provide when you create an account. Passwords are stored securely as a hash. Some apps let you add a profile photo or a business/studio name.
Content you create or upload — depending on the App, this can include project briefs, brand kits, reference files, photos, galleries, bookings, products, or messages (including voice messages).
Payment records — payments are processed by Apple or Stripe (see below). We never collect or store your full card number. We retain records such as amounts, dates, status, and a payment reference identifier.
Notifications — if you enable push notifications, we store a device token so we can send you updates.
Support communications — if you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and our apps do not contain third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
App-specific details
Lite Work Designs
Project information — the briefs you submit (project type, descriptions, styles, colors, dimensions, budget, timeline) and any brand kits you create.
Files you share — reference images and files you upload, and design proofs and final files exchanged through the App.
Messages — text and voice messages you send within the App.
Payments — project payments are processed by Stripe.
Aperla
Photos — images photographers choose to upload to deliver to their clients, and the watermarked proof versions Aperla generates from them. Photos are uploaded only when a photographer selects them; we never scan your photo library.
Gallery activity — which photos a client views, picks, or favorites, so the right originals can be unlocked, and basic engagement details (such as when a gallery was first opened) shared with the delivering photographer.
Shared details between users — photographers and their clients see each other's name, studio name, profile photo, and the contact details used to connect them (such as the email an invite was sent to).
Subscriptions — the Aperla Studio subscription is purchased through Apple. Apple processes the payment; we receive subscription status and transaction identifiers so we can unlock your features.
Extra-pick purchases — when a client buys extra photo picks, the payment goes to the photographer and is processed through the photographer's own Stripe account. We store a record of the order (amount, status); the photographer — not Lite Work Designs — is the merchant for these purchases.
Email notifications — gallery invitations, delivery notices, and reminders are sent to the email address on the gallery or account.
Finch
Bookings and sessions — appointment and booking details you create, including live video session scheduling. Live sessions are transmitted in real time to the participants.
Store and products — products you list or purchase, and the related order records.
Payments and subscriptions — processed by Stripe; we retain order and subscription records (amounts, dates, status).
Homefront
On-device data — your pantry items, recipes, and meal plans are stored on your device.
Barcode lookups — when you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts database to look up the product. No personal information is sent with it.
AI features — if you use AI-powered suggestions (such as meal planning), the pantry and preference details needed to generate the suggestion are processed by our AI service provider to produce the response.
How we use your information
To create and manage your account.
To provide each App's core features — delivering design work, proofing and delivering photos, managing bookings and orders, or generating meal plans.
To process payments, manage subscriptions, and provide receipts.
To send you notifications and emails about activity that concerns you (quotes, proofs, gallery deliveries, picks, bookings, payments).
To respond to support requests.
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve our apps.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.
How your information is stored and shared
We use trusted service providers to operate our apps. These providers process your information only to provide their services to us:
Supabase — hosts our databases, file storage, and account authentication.
Stripe — processes payments securely. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Apple — processes in-app purchases and subscriptions (such as Aperla Studio) and delivers push notifications through the Apple Push Notification service. See Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Open Food Facts — answers barcode lookups in Homefront.
Information is also shared between users where that is the point of the App — for example, a photographer and their client in Aperla, or you and our design team in the Lite Work Designs app. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Where your information is processed
We are based in the United States, and our service providers store and process information in the United States. If you use our apps from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services and meet legal or financial recordkeeping obligations. Order and payment records may be retained after account deletion where the law requires it. You can delete your account at any time (see below).
Your choices and rights
Delete your account — every App with an account lets you permanently delete it directly in the App (under Account → Delete account). This removes your profile and the content tied to it — in Aperla, for example, a photographer's deletion removes their studio, galleries, photos, and their clients' access to them.
Access and correction — you can update your details in the App, and you may contact us to request a copy of your information.
Notifications — you can turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
Regional rights — depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at the address below and we will honor applicable requests.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, signed time-limited links for private files, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, note it in the affected App. Continued use of an App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
