Black Chat Podcast — Brand Identity
Role — Logo design · identity system · brand guidelines · 3D motion
A conversation podcast needed a mark that could carry the whole show: podcast cover art at thumbnail size, a video intro, and social clips. The name had to read instantly, and the identity had to feel like established broadcast media rather than a startup wordmark. Inferring from the deliverables — square cover exports, an animated intro, and social cut-downs — the badge also had to survive motion treatment and dark video backgrounds.
The solution is a classic on-air seal. A vintage broadcast microphone sits on a red disc, its grille lines resolving into a hidden 'C' for Chat. A black ring carries 'BLACK CHAT' and 'PODCAST' in bold circular caps, edged in gold like a record label stamp, while a horizontal nameplate banner crosses the seal so the name reads at a glance. Red signals live-on-air energy; gold and black give it heritage weight.
Delivered the full badge lockup in layered AI, SVG, and PNG formats on dark and transparent backgrounds, plus a 3D-modeled version of the mark rendered in Blender for an animated show intro and social media motion stingers — carrying the identity from static cover art into video.
